This painting by Herb Kawainui Kane entitled, "Kauhi's Last Stand." Depicts an honorable battle at Ka'anapali on Maui. It lasted two days and was fought between the armies of two brothers Kauhi'aimokuakama and Kamehamehanui over the rule of the island. Heroes emerged and the stream was clogged with the bodies of slain warriors from both sides, turning the waters red.
I will be on the island of Maui next weekend and will try to visit some historic places there to share with you.
